Veteran of the Great Patriotic War Pyotr Kazachenko is the only man in our district who has celebrated his centenary in the last decade. The distinguished birthday boy was congratulated by representatives of the authorities, public organizations, social services, and the enterprise where he worked for 26 years – now OJSC "Lepelagroservice".
The birthday boy received not only gifts and warm congratulations on this day: he also became the owner of a new document. The passport of a centenarian citizen was presented to Pyotr Ilyich by the Head of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Department of Internal Affairs, Vasily Misnik. A welcome address from the Chairman of the District Executive Committee, Boris Efremov, was read by the Head of the Department of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the District Executive Committee, Vasily Ravovoy.
The Head of the Technical Service Department of OJSC "Lepelagroservice", Valery Alexandrovich, who succeeded Pyotr Ilyich after his retirement, thanked him for the experience he passed on.
From February 1st, Pyotr Ilyich, as a centenarian citizen, will receive a monthly pension supplement of five base units. By the way, Pyotr Ilyich is not the oldest person in the district: Lepel resident Lidiya Lan'ko celebrated her centenary back in November 2012. However, among the male centenarians, he is the only one so far. By the way, there are 15 people in our district who have passed the 95-year mark.
The fingers of both hands are not enough to count Pyotr Ilyich's children and grandchildren: three children, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild. However, unfortunately, the whole family could not gather at the festive table even on his hundredth birthday. Son Pyotr with his family lives in Lepel, while other children and grandchildren are in Russia. Photo collages, a portrait of the grandfather – the grandchildren sent gifts through their parents. One of them shows all the attention to the three-year-old great-great-grandson Daniil.
Daughter Svetlana with her husband came from Penza to congratulate her father, and son Viktor with his wife came from Krasnodar Krai. Although, this meeting might not have happened: after 1946, Pyotr Ilyich, who went to the front on the first day of the war, lost contact with his family. And only in 2006 did his children find their father thanks to the program "Wait for me". Until then, the hope of meeting was small. However, even considering him dead, they did not stop their search.
