The jury of the X International Children's Musical Competition "Vitebsk-2012" at the XXI International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" worked extremely honestly and professionally. This assessment of the international jury's work was given by its chairman, composer, singer, laureate of the State Prize of Georgia, Cavalier of the Order of Honour Jemal Sepiashvili at the awards ceremony for the winners, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"The competition brought together the most talented group of the most talented children; it was not easy for us, but the choice was made as honestly and professionally as possible," emphasised Jemal Sepiashvili, thanking Belarus, Vitebsk, the audience, and also the huge team of people led by the General Director of the "Vitebsk" Cultural Centre, Director of the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" International Festival of Arts Rodion Bass, who organised this vibrant event.
Other jury members also noted the high level of performance skills of the young contestants in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent. "The winners were determined by the slightest nuances: performance skills, diction, the correct choice of repertoire, which is very important, as not all participants had a successful one. Everything played a role. We tried to acknowledge all the children who performed brilliantly," said jury member, Bulgarian composer Haigashot Agasyan. As an example, he cited Mariam from Bulgaria, whom he knows from her participation and victories in other prestigious festivals. The girl became a laureate of the competition because, in Haigashot Agasyan's opinion, she could not fully reveal and demonstrate her potential due to an unsuitable composition.
A similar opinion was expressed by the youngest member of the jury, the popular Russian singer, laureate of the International Pop Song Performers Competition "Vitebsk-2006" Alexey Goman. Referring to the Georgian contestant Mariam Bichoshvili, who won the Grand Prix, he noted that she performed very strongly on the first day of the competition. "Personally, I gave her two well-deserved tens. I understand that malicious tongues may start drawing parallels: a girl from Georgia - a jury chairman from Georgia - with the corresponding conclusion, but nothing like that happened. We did not know the scores awarded by each other until the end of the competition performances," emphasized Alexey Goman. The artist also added that he was rooting for the representatives of his country, Aigul Valiulina and Anna Muzafarova. "Anna Muzafarova sang very well, but the arrangement of one of the songs let her down, so I couldn't give her the highest score," admitted the artist, once again noting the honesty and impartiality with which the jury was guided in selecting the winners.
The Grand Prix of the X International Children's Music Competition "Vitebsk-2012" at the XXI International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" was awarded to Mariam Bichoshvili from Georgia. The winner of the festival's minor intrigue was presented with $5,000, a special prize, and a diploma of the Grand Prix winner of the X International Children's Competition "Vitebsk-2012". The first prize of $3,000, a special prize, and a laureate diploma were awarded to Alisher Zhaksybay from Kazakhstan. The second prize of $2,000 was divided by the jury among three participants. The award winners were Diana from Romania, Shukhrat from Uzbekistan, and Pollyanna Ryzhak from Ukraine.
