5 October, Minsk /Anna Kot - BELTA/. According to preliminary data, in September, Belarus's gold and foreign exchange reserves, as defined by the IMF's Special Data Dissemination Standards (SDDS), remained virtually unchanged and stood at $8,126 million as of October 1, 2012. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Information and Public Relations Department of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.
In the national definition, the level of gold and foreign exchange reserves increased by $70.5 million and stood at $8,829 million as of October 1, 2012.
"The volume of gold and foreign exchange reserves was influenced by the full repayment of external and internal foreign currency liabilities by the National Bank and the Government of Belarus, which was offset by an increase in the price of gold on the international precious metals market," explained the National Bank. -0-
