The taekwondo section of the Belarusian public association "Taekwondo" has been operating in Lepel for the second year. The children eagerly acquire sports skills from the excellent coach Ina Popova, and successfully participate in numerous regional and national competitions.

The children brought back many unforgettable impressions from the "First Glove" competition, which took place in Minsk. In addition to the children from Lepel, young athletes from Minsk, Lida, Svetlogorsk, Vitebsk, Osipovichi, Brest, and Gomel participated in the competition.

In the "Tul" technique among girls aged 11-13, Lena Smazhevskaya, a student of Gymnasium No. 1, took third place. In sparring, in the weight category up to 39 kilograms, among girls aged six to seven, Dasha Smazhevskaya, a student of Gymnasium No. 1, won. In the weight category up to 38 kilograms, among girls aged ten to eleven, Lena Smazhevskaya took first place. Among boys, in the weight category up to 30 kilograms (aged ten to eleven), Sasha Semenov, a student of Gorskaya Secondary School, took second place. In the weight category up to 34 kilograms (aged eight to nine), Artur Kireev from Borovskaya Secondary School took second place.

Timofey Bykov and Maxim Buda, students of Secondary School No. 1, also performed excellently at the competition.

The children also demonstrated their excellent sports skills at the Open Championship of the "Usiaslau" club, which was held in Minsk.

In the complex of formal exercises "Tul" among green belts, Vanya Matesha, a student of Secondary School No. 1, took third place. In "Sparring," in the weight category of 28 kilograms (aged eight to nine), Denis Shnitko, a student of Gorskaya Secondary School, took first place. Among girls in this discipline, Nastya Tukhta (Secondary School No. 1) took first place. Among girls aged ten to eleven, in the weight category of 38 kilograms, Lena Smazhevskaya took first place.

The young trainees of the taekwondo section also brought glory to the Lepel region at the Third International Tournament of the "Sparta" club, which was held in Minsk. Young athletes from Belarus, as well as from Ukraine and Moldova, participated in the tournament.
