Belarusian sports stars today gifted the warmth of their hearts to the pupils of the state mixed-type orphanage in Novopolotsk, as reported to BELTA correspondent by the silver medalist of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, medalist of World and European Championships, Chairman of the Novopolotsk city organisation of the public association "Belaya Rus" Vadim Devyatovsky. The Mercy Team, comprising Vadim Devyatovsky, European Rhythmic Gymnastics Champion Liubov Cherkashina, Olympic Games medalists in Rhythmic Gymnastics Ksenia Sankovich, Anastasia Ivankova, as well as their national team colleagues Marina Goncharova, brought gifts – sports equipment – to the children from the orphanage. Furthermore, the Belarusian graces presented the children with a short excerpt from their performance. As Vadim Devyatovsky noted, this is not the first visit of athletes to the orphanage. "Having visited here once, having seen these children, one wants to help them, to support them, therefore my friends from the national rhythmic gymnastics team gladly responded to the offer to join the republican campaign "Our Children" and to visit Novopolotsk on the eve of the New Year," the Olympian shared. The athletes prepared another fairy-tale gift for the specialised children and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve of the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee. Liubov Cherkashina, Ksenia Sankovich, Anastasia Ivankova, Marina Goncharova conducted a master class for young gymnasts trained by this school.-0-
