Belarus is ready to give new substance to the SCO and BRICS and put forward interesting proposals, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik said after negotiations with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov who was on an official visit to Belarus, BelTA has learned.
“I would like to thank our Russian partners for their active support of Belarus’ aspirations to join the global majority represented by the effectively functioning SCO and BRICS,” Sergei Aleinik remarked. “We are ready to give new substance to these organizations and put forward interesting proposals.”
“Belarus suggests holding the Days of National Cultures of the SCO member states on the sidelines of the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk on 12-13 July. On these same days, a press tour for SCO journalists will be held in Belarus,” the foreign minister said.
“Today we have discussed plans to intensify relations with friendly states of the Global South. You know that we are coordinating work in this area, these plans were laid out in the decisions of previous boards of the foreign ministries of the two countries. We want to specify joint action across a number of projects,” added Sergei Aleinik.
