More and more people in Belarus and the world start learning the Chinese language, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Xie Xiaoyong said at the Chinese Ambassador's Award 2023 ceremony at the Belarusian State University of Physical Education on 18 December, BelTA has learned.

“Firstly, the Chinese language is a great asset in itself. This is an ancient and unique language that has withstood the tests of time and the change of eras,” the Chinese ambassador emphasized. “It is passed down from generation to generation and is filled with charm. The art of calligraphy highlights the beauty of the Chinese language in completely different styles; melodious poetry and rhythmic prose convey the charming tropes, and captivating literary works express the splendor of meanings,” the diplomat said.

According to the ambassador, at first foreigners are attracted by elegance of Chinese characters, after that they are captivated by the way they are put together, and finally they are fascinated by the unique style and character conveyed between the lines.

“I am sure that all of you, as Chinese language learners, have realized that the more you understand and master the Chinese language, the more you can experience its depth and versatility,” Xie Xiaoyong added.
