25.09.2023

The 67th Regular Session of the IAEA General Conference is running in Vienna. An exposition of the Belarusian nuclear power plant has opened at the headquarters of the organization - the Vienna International Centre. The exposition will feature information about Belarus' nuclear energy program, BelTA learned from the press service of the Energy Ministry.

The press service noted that visitors to the Belarusian stand will be able to learn about the nuclear energy and nuclear safety infrastructure of the country, the development of the legal framework, and personnel training programs for the nuclear industry. The stand will also tell visitors about the development of the socio-economic infrastructure of the town of Ostrovets where the BelNPP is located.

“The BelNPP project is at the final stage. Belarus is taking the necessary measures to ensure a high level of safety of the plant. It is doing it openly, responsibly and in cooperation with leading international organizations, primarily the IAEA. Belarus has hosted all key Agency missions recommended for countries constructing their first nuclear power plants. Recommendations and proposals from experts have provided important guidelines for the implementation of the national nuclear energy program,” the Energy Ministry said.

Belarus shares its expertise and knowledge with other states.
