Belarus' first vice premier: China is multiplying centuries-old traditions of state building

26.09.2023

China, firmly following the strategic course of President Xi Jinping, is multiplying centuries-old traditions of state building, Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov said as he spoke at an event to mark the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China on 25 September, BelTA has learned.

“On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Belarus and myself personally, I sincerely congratulate you on the national holiday - the Day of Establishment of the People's Republic of China and the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival,” Nikolai Snopkov said. “I would like to emphasize the colossal success of the People's Republic of China. Firmly following the strategic course of President Xi Jinping, China is multiplying centuries-old traditions of state building. The first goal of the century has been successfully achieved: over the past decade, China's GDP has doubled and its share in the global economy has reached one fifth. China is successfully moving toward the second goal of the century, which is to build a comprehensively modernized socialist power.”

The first vice premier emphasized China's strong technological leadership. “China is marking this anniversary as a strong power that makes a significant contribution to peace, stability and progress in the world. This anniversary symbolizes the unity of the people and the power of China, pride in its thousand-year history, rich culture and traditions,” Nikolai Snopkov added.

“Belarus fully supports the implementation of China's Belt and Road Initiative and the three-pronged concept of the Global Security, Development and Civilization Initiative. A year ago, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Chinese President Xi Jinping made a decision on a new era in interstate relations - the establishment of an all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership,” the first deputy prime minister said. According to him, the historic decision served as a powerful impetus for deepening full-scale and multi-pronged cooperation between the two countries. As Chinese President Xi Jinping said at the meeting with the Belarusian president on 1 March, “the new status of bilateral relations should be filled with new content”.

During Aleksandr Lukashenko's state visit to China, the leaders of the two countries gave impetus to the strategy of joint technological development. “This is the basis for the progressive economic development and economic security of our country under the sanctions pressure. In fact, we have developed a new model of economic interaction, reached a qualitatively new level of partnership, and introduced new forms and mechanisms of inter-sectoral cooperation,” Nikolai Snopkov stressed.

He wished the friendly people of China new achievements and victories, and the unity and patriotism to always be a reliable support. He also wished the relations of all-weather friendship and iron brotherhood between the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China to further develop and strengthen.
