Bishkek to host CIS Forum of Creative and Scientific Intellectuals in September

The 16th CIS Forum of Creative and Scientific Intellectuals will be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on 12-13 September. It will bring together more than 200 delegates from the CIS countries, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund.

The forum will be themed around "Through the interaction of cultures - to harmony and peace". At plenary and breakout sessions, scholars, educators and artists will discuss new formats of cooperation in education, youth initiatives in volunteering and intercultural dialogue. The central panel discussion will focus on the main theme of 2023 in the CIS which has been declared as the Year of the Russian Language as a Means of Interethnic Communication. One of the dialogues will highlight the literary heritage of Chingiz Aitmatov, his influence on the spiritual and moral worldview of modern reality.

The forum will host an award ceremony for the winners of the CIS interstate awards Stars of the Commonwealth and Commonwealth of Debuts and a concert of the CIS Youth Symphony Orchestra. For the first time, a meeting of the CIS council of heads of state-run news agencies and a roundtable of heads of CIS theater unions will be held on the sidelines of the forum.

"The forums of creative and scientific intellectuals are the main humanitarian event of the year in the CIS. They are held alternately in the capitals of the CIS countries," the press service said.
