President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko did not rule out the possibility of selling the state-owned majority shareholding in Integral Co. to the Russian Sistema when meeting with chairman of the board of directors of the Russian corporation Vladimir Evtushenkov on October 29. Alexander Lukashenko welcomed Sistema intention to invest in the production of submicron integrated circuits at Integral. “Let us together create and sell submicron integrated circuits in the international market. In the near future Belarus may sell its majority shareholding in Integral. However, this will be done under certain conditions. The main thing is that the personnel of the company should not be laid off and people should earn good money. This is the main condition,” the Belarusian leader noted. Sistema is Russia’s biggest private sector consumer services company, which manages and administers assets in the sphere of high technologies, communications, medicine, construction, finances and tourism. It closely cooperates with the Russian state bodies and participates in the implementation of the most important national projects in education, health care, development of the electronic industry, construction and creation of technological parks and commercialization of the navigation system GLONASS. The company’s consolidated incomes reached almost $11 billion in 2006 and grew by 43% as against 2005. The clear profit of Sistema companies totaled $813 million and upped by 52%. As of July 2007 the aggregate capitalization of Sistema companies exceeded $40 billion at the exchanges of New York and London.
