Belarus to open its embassy in Tatarstan

MOSCOW, 25 August (BelTA) – The Russian Government has given consent to open an office of the Belarusian embassy in Kazan (Tatarstan). The relative resolution has been signed by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, BelTA learned from the press service of the Russian Government. Belarus’ Council of Ministers made a decision to open the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Tatarstan on 2 July 2010. In line with the document, the embassy should start working on 1 September this year. The new diplomatic mission will allow Belarus and Tatarstan to intensify the bilateral cooperation. Belarus is one of the main foreign trade partners of Tatarstan. Both the sides cooperate in pertrochemistry, machine construction, innovation and other areas. At present there are nine offices of the Belarusian Embassy in the Russian Federation: St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Kaliningrad, Ufa, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk and Smolensk.
