Lukashenko: KGB officers are at the forefront of countering unprecedented challenges

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko congratulated the staff of the State Security Committee on their professional holiday - the Day of the State Security Officer, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"On this day, we proudly recall the glorious history of the service. It was written by true patriots, whose names have become legendary. Their devotion to the Fatherland, unparalleled courage and bravery embodied in feats in the name of peace and life in their beloved land have become the main reference point for each new generation of security officers," the congratulatory message reads.

KGB officers, being people of special character even today, in the most difficult and sometimes extreme situations invariably demonstrate the highest professionalism, exceptional reliability, maximum composure and concentration of forces, and most importantly, responsibility for the future of citizens and the country, the Belarusian leader stated.

"Relying on the invaluable experience of your predecessors and the traditions of the national intelligence service, you are also at the forefront of countering the unprecedented challenges, suppressing interference attempts from the outside, protecting the state priorities and values," the president added.

Aleksandr Lukashenko thanked the KGB officers for their determination, resolve, and impeccable fulfillment of their tasks to protect the inherent right of Belarusian citizens to live in peace and harmony, to create and look to the future with confidence.

The head of state also expressed gratitude to the veterans of the state security bodies: "You set a worthy example of loyalty to duty and calling, fortitude and strength of mind to the younger generation, share your unique, truly heroic experience, which is especially relevant today."

The president wished the KGB staff good health, prosperity and new successes in their difficult service for the benefit of their beloved Belarus.
