President: state will improve concentration of funds to address Chernobyl challenges

27.04.2007
Belarus will improve the concentration of funds to address urgent Chernobyl challenges, the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said today while answering questions of reporters in the town of Bykhov (eastern Belarus).

“What we need is to concentrate funds rather than squander them,” the Head of State said.

“The state does not invest funds where there is no need to,” he added. Today, money is channeled into solving specific issues, first of all in purging water from iron, construction of roads, extension of gas and water supply networks to every house.

The process of concentration of funds continues, Alexander Lukashenko said. The funds will be allocated for addressing the most pressing issues connected with the cushioning of the Chernobyl impact.
