VITEBSK, 15 May (BelTA) – In Q1 2010 the Polotsk Dairy more than doubled its export to $3.7 million, BelTA learnt from the company. The export was increased mainly due to the development of new markets. Last year Russia was the major export destination for the company. In 2010 the dairy started its supplies to Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia. The company has recently signed a contract with Albania. The Polotsk Dairy is currently negotiating possible deliveries to Egypt and South Korea. Cooperation with other countries has opened new opportunities to the company and reduced its dependence on the Russian market, the company said. In the future the Polotsk Dairy plans to install a new line for bottling milk, kefir and yogurt into 1l, 0.5l and 0.25l PET bottles and a line to produce whipped curd products (dairy desserts such as puddings and mousses). The projects will help expand the assortment of the company, increase its competitive ability and promote the export. Founded in 1987, the company manufactures nearly 70 descriptions under the trademark Molochnoye Pazdolye. The company employs over 600 professionals. In January-March 2010 the company’s output made up 36.5% over the same period in 2009 (consumer goods totaled 42.2%).
